How to use UV resin

How to use:

Once your clay is completely dry, paint with two coats of paint, (don't apply any sealer) and leave to fully dry. Make sure your piece is clean and free of dust (use a damp paper towel to gently wipe it down).

Set up in a well-ventilated area and protect your surface with paper towels. Use your gloves provided and a mask is recommended if you have one handy.

Puncture the foil seal, attach the spout, and pour slowly into the cup provided.

If you'd like to add glitter, now is the time — keep it to a maximum of 5% and stir well.

Using your brush, apply the resin evenly onto your piece. It dries quickly, so work with confidence. Don't use too much product at a time though - keep your brush strokes thin. 

Avoid applying resin to the bottom of your piece and don't paint right to the edges — this prevents it from sticking to your surface.

You can dry your piece on top of an object, like a cup or little balls of clay, so that the sides don’t touch/stick to the surface.

If you need to cover the bottom of something like a wavey incense holder or a decorative wavey bowl, you can do this once your piece is completely set and dry. 

Take your piece outside and cure in direct sunlight for 10-20 minutes or until fully cured. If you have a UV lamp you can use this also. 

Tip: if a bare patch occurs, you can fix these up by applying some more resin to these areas after the first coat is completely cured. 

Safety:

Keep out of reach of children. Use gloves and apply in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after use. This product is not food safe. Allow to fully cure under direct sunlight for 10-20 minutes or under a UV light before touching finished pieces. If swallowed, inhaled, or irritation occurs, contact:

Storage:

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

Disposal/washing brushes:

Dispose of contents and container in the bin — not down the drain. You can just throw your brush away or wipe off excess resin, soak the bristles in acetone or rubbing alchohol for 102 minutes, and scrub them on a paper towel.  Finish by washing the bristles with warm water and dish soap, then hang the brush upside down to dry.
