Modeletto began as a kitchen-table idea between Mum and me back in 2020. During the long lockdowns of 2021, we wanted to create something meaningful for people to do at home — something calming, creative, and grounding. Four years on, Modeletto has grown into a purpose-driven brand with a simple mission: to introduce more play into everyday life through art therapy.
When your hands are messy, you naturally disconnect from your devices (something we all need a little more of) and drop into a flow state — that quiet, focused place where your mind slows down and all those open tabs finally close (yippee). Mum and I have both practised pottery for years, and we wanted to share this beautifully mindful hobby with you.
Because we truly believe we need to play more — and scroll less. Clay and paint are the perfect mediums to experiment, explore, and create without pressure.

We bring pottery to your place with our at-home pottery kits.
The best part? No previous experience, wheel, or kiln required. (Although you absolutely have the option to fire your pieces if you’d like to make them food-safe and fully ceramic.)

Expanding Our Creative Offering
Last year, we introduced paint by numbers kits to the Modeletto collection. Each design is inspired by our ceramics and originally hand-painted by a local artist, then digitally formatted into a paint by numbers kit — making it easy for anyone to create beautiful artwork at home.
Why “Modeletto”?
Modeletto means “to model” in Italian — a nod to our Italian heritage in Florence and to our grandfather (and dad), Peter Caccia-Birch. He’s the kind of person who is always creating, always painting, always working with his hands. He taught us to embrace the messiness of life and to be present in the process.
Those values are at the heart of everything we do.
